The boots did provide protection on the first hike but the sole also began to show signs of separation after just a couple hikes. I glued them to them and applied more waterproofing. This got them to another 4 hikes. I think I should have looked for something a little sturdier. The price was right but the quality was just not there. Waterproofing works as described. Comfort level was acceptable not great.
